Anna Tybinko was born in Philadelphia, where she was raised by two landscape painters. She spent much of her childhood accompanying them on painting trips, exploring the woods and participating in art making endeavors.
In recent years, Anna has been traveling and teaching language. After completing her master's at the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain, Anna returned to Philadelphia last fall where she continues to teach - and make art at her own pace.

This piece is a physical play on words. The Spanish phrase for sheets of paper "hojas de papel," or leaves of paper, is explored here from varying perspectives. Cut from a single sheet, wired with jewelry-grade materials, then fixed with papier-mâché - the book is suddenly transformed into multiple pages and, simultaneously, a stack of leaves.
