Lesley Wamsley

Lesley Wamsley is a visual artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY.  Her work investigates ceremonial objects of adornment. 

 

She is an adjunct professor at the State University of New York at New Paltz teaching in the Foundations Department.

This work explores ceremonial objects of adornment.  It is not the reason for the ceremony that I find interesting; rather, the objects that universally signify some kind of shift or memorable moment in one's life.  Whether public or private, these occasions can be articulated and memorialized through the presence of a decorative totem.
