Trewellyn Creek

Every month for the last five years, I have monitored one section of Trewellyn Creek, a tributary of the Wissahickon Creek, for the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association. I stand at a bridge and take a photo of the same spot and record what I notice about the aquatic life, plants and animals, and erosion and sedimentation. The edge of the island in the center of the monitoring site has shifted dramatically over time as heavy rains wash chunks of it away. This little book traces that edge and its consequences for one catalpa sapling.
