I am an artist living on the east coast of Australia, and I work mainly in printmaking and artists' books. Juanbung is a cattle station in an area called the Great Cumbung Swamp. Each year it floods, water winding round large islands of reeds. It is a liminal space: somewhere, nowhere, mysterious, ever changing. The loop and swirl of the water has inhabited my art practice for almost 20 years. The book is made from a sugar-lift aquatint with blind embossing on 300gsm Somerset Rough paper, with additional puncture marks, like walking tracks across the landscape.
