Lesley Tao Mowat is founder of DrumFlower, dedicated to Empowering You One Beat at a Time. A Spiritual Creative with over 40 years in music and visual art, she has been a shamanic healer and teacher since 1998. She was creative director of a professional band for over a decade. With a BFA, Photography (UArts) & MFA, Computer Art (SVA); she taught digital media at University of the Arts and created websites in pioneer days of new media.

Tao inhabits a world of Sound, creating music from listening and seeing with heightened awareness. She creates music which assists in shifting consciousness and supporting the personal healing process, collaborates with visual artists, creates music in dialogue with the Web of Life.

Lesley Tao is a multi-instrumentalist; main instruments these days being guitar, drums, tabla. She has a passion for nurturing in others this experience of playing music and being in sound.

In September & October of 2015, I went on the road in New Mexico, Arizona & California to be with the Land & Web Of Life there.

We listened to each other ... I allowed the vibration we shared to flow through my BodyMindBeing into marks on paper. It quickly became apparent they were actually a type of music notation to be performed later.

The books are meant to be opened fully to reveal a hidden drawing. This is the music of the place in the form of marks on paper. It can be used as a form of 'music notation' & be inspiration for creating music of that place.
