Heavy Bubble's first annual invitational winter group exhibition: Snowflake Salon is taking place December 3, 2010 through February 19, 2011. Designed to brighten the long winter darkness this Salon Show is being held in two locations simultaneously. Works are small-ish no larger than 20 x 20 inches and purchases are cash and carry. The full price of sale goes directly to the artist. No gallery commission is taken.
The show includes more than 37 invited artists and 64 pieces.
There's a lovely show of drawings nestled into the back room at l.g. tripp gallery on second street in Old City. We wandered in last week and found these gems of urban mapping.
Heavybubble has released a new design called concrete.
Our new design sports a very light neutral gray background. We've added a thin white border around the images to help keep the color saturation from being dulled where it meets the background.
Centered on a rare interview that director and friend Tamra Davis shot with Basquiat over twenty years ago, this definitive documentary chronicles the meteoric rise and fall of the young artist. In the crime-ridden NYC of the 1970s, he covers the city with the graffiti tag SAMO.
The rest is history.
There is a monster of a show at L.G. Tripp Gallery right now. David Foss has a solo show that is certainly up to the task of filling the considerable gallery space that usually hosts two artists.
At first they were just two boxes. They traveled far. Then the unpacking began. Wave one is getting use to being in the gallery. Here’s a slideshow from flickr.
