2016 Artist Workshop Series: Vision Planning, Working Groups, & Accountability (presented by Leeway Foundation & ArtistU)
In this 3-part series, participants are encouraged to bring their major successes, brightest ideas, and biggest challenges as a means to fuel visions and strategic plans for the new year and beyond.
Part I: Personal/Professional/Artistic Goal Setting
Monday, February 1 | 6:00pm-8:00pm
Artists are great planners in the studio. We can use those skills across all aspects of our lives. It's the single most important tool artists use to build sustainable lives. We'll talk about the roles artists play in our culture, the importance of our work, and the simple planning tools that can turn hopes into accomplishments.
Part II: Communicate
Monday, February 8 | 6:00pm-8:00pm
You'll make a brief presentation about your work and participate in discussions that will sharpen how you communicate about your practice and why it's important.
Part III: Artist Statements and Working Group Launch
Monday, February 22 | 6:00pm-8:00pm
We'll re/write our artist statements (with help from each other). And we'll form Working Groups, accountability circles that will continue to meet. Working Groups will use the Artists U Workbook, guided exercises and discussions aimed at building a balanced, sustainable life as an artist.
Light bites will be served, but feel free to bring something to eat as well! **Sessions have very limited capacity (20 max), and you must be able to attend all sessions in order to participate.**
