Lesley Mitchell will show paintings from her recent A Maze Ing series as part of Common Ground: Singular Visions, opening this Sunday at the Wayne Arts Center in Wayne PA.

Mazes and labryinths have appeared in her work for years, but only recently has she made a concentrated investigation of their visiual, symbolic and conceptual properties. The addition of found objects in the acrylic on panel paintings reference real-life mazes encountered in her travels.

Mitchell will take part in a pre-reception Meet the Artists discussion this Sunday.

Mitchell shows alongs with her cohorts in Assemblage, a 17 member collective of women artists whose 30 year association has enriched the practice of all its members profoundly. Assemblage members show together annually in a variety of regional venues.
