Explorations in Geometry, an exhibition of prints by Bill Brookover, will be on view in the Community Gallery at Artworks Trenton from February 28 through March 25, 2017.  Brookover’s work explores geometric patterns and structures, building on his training in design and architecture.

Based in printmaking techniques, Brookover’s work explores the world of pattern, geometry and symmetry.   His recent work moves into low relief, using multiple layers of printed paper. Each element is printed separately. Prints are cut apart and reassembled in multiple layers with a bit of space between the layers to lift them off the page.  This achieves dramatic light and shadow to enhance the tonal variations and color contrasts.

Bill Brookover was born in West Texas. He studied art and architecture at Rice University, historic preservation at Columbia University, and printmaking at Fleisher Art Memorial. His work has been shown throughout the Delaware Valley.

Artworks Trenton is located at 19 Everett Alley, on Stockton Street between Front and Market Streets in the Mill Hill Historic District of Trenton, New Jersey.  Gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017, 6 to 8 p.m.
