The purpose of the Juried Drawing Exhibition is to engage the community in regional art and participate in an exchange of ideas and abilities. Taking the simple concept of drawing, artists can bring new life toan age-old way of creating imagery, helping to build a contemporary definition of drawing.

Kate Kraczon, Curatorial Assistant

Kate Kraczon joined The Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania as Curatorial Assistant in August 2008. She is currently co-curating a group exhibition of artist-run spaces in Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Recent projects include One is the loneliest number (spring 2011), featuring artist duos based in Philadelphia and elsewhere that work in a variety of media; Summer Studio with Anthony Campuzano, a month-long free art school and working artist’s studio in the ICA galleries (July 2010); Touch Sensitive: Anthony Campuzano (winter 2009), the first museum show of an artist whose work is largely text-based; Asking Not Telling (fall 2009), a video show presenting works that use the tropes of documentary filmmaking to capture, record, (re)record, and represent cultural memory; and Tim Rollins and K.O.S.: A History (fall 2009) (organizing curator at ICA).
