Cloud Project invites artists, new and emerging, residing in the US, to submit work for consideration to the 2014 Cloud Prize. Notable curator, Anthony Elms, who currently serves as co-curator for the 2014 Whitney Biennial, will review all completed submissions and will choose one to three recipients of an award worth up to $1,000. We encourage artists from a range of media including sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, site-specific installation, video, sound, performance, collaborations and socially engaged practices.
- Send images of 5 to 8 work samples. Include the media, dimensions or specifications, and title for each image provided.
- Samples of work must be labeled with the artist name plus a 2-digit number (johndoe01.jpg, johndoe02.jpg, etc.).
- Still images must be formatted as jpeg files, at 72 dpi and no larger than 1 MB each.
- Video or Sound files must be sent as a link, either via YouTube or Vimeo.
- Please also include a short (no more than one page) statement, and a current CV.

- A $20, non-refundable, fee must accompany all submissions (via PayPal) which will be used to offset curatorial and administrative costs. Online payment: Cloud Prize PayPal

REVIEW PROCESS:
Submissions will be reviewed in the beginning of June and final decisions/announcements will be made by mid-June, 2014.

The Cloud Prize is the brainchild of artists and founders of Cloud Coffee: Matthew Craig and Kristen Mills. The Cloud Prize is intended to foster growth and vitality in an unchecked manner for one to three select artist(s) each year.
Anthony Elms is one of the co-curators for the current 2014 Whitney Biennial, and Associate Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia. He is also the editor of WhiteWalls, an independent publisher distributed through the University of Chicago Press. Previously he worked for Performa 11 and was Assistant Director at Gallery 400 at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His writings have appeared in Afterall, Art Asia Pacific, Art Papers, Artforum, Cakewalk, May Revue, Modern Painters, New Art Examiner, and Time Out Chicago.
